Under 65 Food Distribution Service

As part of the local response to the Covid-19 situation, KCSC, in partnership with RBKC and the Volunteer Centre Kensington and Chelsea as part of the Community Resilience Group, supported by the Venture Centre, Bay 20 and Smart, have launched a food distribution service for vulnerable individuals and families who are under 65. As you may know, residents of 65 and above are being supported via Age UK’s emergency service.
The service is designed to be as straightforward as possible with the completion of a referral form submitted into a centralised email. If your organisation comes into contact with people you believe meet the referral criteria specified within the form then please complete and send to the email covid19foodsupport@rbkc.gov.uk. If successful, the referrals will be sent processed and food distributed as soon as is reasonably possible direct to the home of the person or family referred.
Supplies will be mostly made up of dry and ambient food, toiletries and cleaning products.  The service aims to provide a one off supply of food and goods and not a regular delivery although we recognise that specific needs may require more than one delivery. If this is the case we would expect completion of another referral form.
This service is in addition to any other food banks which will continue to operate – it is designed to pick up the particular additional needs and vulnerabilities that are caused by the pandemic and social isolating.
Attached is the referral form that will need to be completed and sent to  covid19foodsupport@rbkc.gov.uk or can be completed over the phone by calling RBKC's Single Point of Access helpline on 020 7361 4326 lines are open 7 days a week 9am to 5pm.
If you have any queries about the system then please call KCSC in the first instance, on 020 7243 9800 or the Venture Centre on 020 8960 3234.
Please note that this service is for food only, if you are picking up any other social or welfare issues please call the RBKC's Single Point of Access helpline on 020 7361 4326 lines are open 7 days a week 9am to 5pm.

The referral form is available here
